Organizational Status & Donations

The Baobab Institute for Nonprofit Law is incorporated as a Delaware nonstock nonprofit corporation. On June 30, 2026, we filed our application for recognition of federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRS Form 1023-EZ); that application is pending IRS determination, and we have not yet received a determination letter. We are not soliciting charitable contributions at this time, and no contribution made at this stage is tax-deductible. The "Get Involved" pages are for expressing interest, applying, and volunteering — not for donating. Once we receive our 501(c)(3) determination and are registered to solicit in the states where we operate (including New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania), we will update this notice and provide the required donor disclosures.
